Gold of Lithuania is the first yachting expedition in Lithuanian history that reconstructs the pilgrim journey of Mikolaj Krzysztof Radziwill (The Orphan), a nobleman of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, to the Holy Land in 1583-1584.
The journey Gold of Lithuania of 2010 is dedicated to both the 20th anniversary of the Lithuania Independence and Vilnius City striving to enhance its cooperation with the ports of the Mediterranean Sea. During this journey, the Lithuanian yachtsmen faced the challenge of sailing around the Mediterranean Sea and communicating the key facts about Lithuania to the countries and cities of this area, promoting business pilgrimage as well as diplomatic, cultural and economic relations.
